Muslim Map Ltd is responsible for processing personal data collected on the site.

Muslim Map collects only the data strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the service and the security of users.

The following may be collected:

  • Contact details: last name, first name, email address, phone number (if provided);

  • Business registration data: business name, description, address, location, website, social media, photos; ;

  • Account data: logins, preferences, subscriptions, payment history; ;

  • Technical data: anonymized IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, session duration; ;

  • Payment data: processed exclusively by Stripe or any other secure payment service provider. Muslim Map never has access to credit card numbers; ;

  • Data related to moderation and reports;

  • Browsing data via cookies and trackers.

No so-called “sensitive” data (ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health data, etc.) is collected.

2bis. Muslim Map mobile application

The Muslim Map mobile application collects and processes the following data:

  • Geolocation Location: used only to display nearby businesses. The location is never stored on our servers and remains on your device.
  • Favourites stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to Muslim Map.
  • Reports When a business is reported, the content of the report is transmitted to Muslim Map via our server.
  • Viewing statistics each visit to a business listing generates an anonymous counter on the server side.

The application does not collect any personal identification data without explicit action by the user. No user account is required to use the application.

3. Purposes of processing

The data collected is used to:

  • Create and manage merchant and user accounts;

  • Publish and list businesses on the platform;

  • Manage subscriptions, payments, and invoices;

  • Verify the ethical and religious compliance of businesses prior to publication;

  • Respond to requests via contact forms;

  • Process reports and moderate content;

  • Ensure the security, maintenance, and improvement of the site;

  • Compile anonymous statistics on visitor numbers;

  • Manage requests to exercise GDPR rights;

  • Comply with legal and accounting requirements; ;

  • Publication of reviews: reviews left on businesses are public and associated with the user's first name or pseudonym.
    Reviews are subject to prior moderation and may be refused or deleted if they contain offensive, defamatory, false, or unverifiable content.

4. Legal basis for processing

The treatments performed are based on:

  • The performance of a contract (creation of an account, subscription to a service);

  • Compliance with legal obligations (billing, fraud prevention);

  • The legitimate interest of Muslim Map (improvement of service, prevention of abuse, moderation);

  • The user's explicit consent when required (forms, cookies, newsletter).

5. Recipients of the data

The data is intended exclusively for Muslim Map and its technical service providers acting on behalf of the platform:

  • Hostinger International Ltd. (hosting);

  • Stripe Inc. or any other secure payment provider.

These service providers are subject to strict confidentiality and security obligations.
No personal data is sold, rented, or transferred to third parties.

6. Data retention

Data is retained only for the period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Account data: as long as the account remains active; ;

  • Business data: as long as the listing is published; ;

  • Billing data: 10 years;

  • Contact details: 3 years after the last exchange;

  • Technical data: maximum 6 months; ;

  • Automatic backups: stored in encrypted form and deleted after the necessary period.

The user may request the deletion of their account or data at any time.

In the event of a request to delete a business, the data are:

  • deleted if there are no legal or administrative consequences associated with them;
  • or anonymized if complete deletion could compromise the integrity of the database (e.g., reviews from other associated users).

7. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:
